NAB RADIO SHOW SESSION EXAMINES NEW SALES OPPORTUNITIES IN RURAL COMMUNITIES WASHINGTON, DC -- The NAB Radio Show will feature a session focusing on the opportunities available for radio broadcasters in the rural community market. Titled Radio's Untapped Resource: The Rural Lifestyler, the seminar will be held Wednesday, September 17 at The NAB Radio Show in Austin. Mike Parry, marketing consultant for the National Association of Farm Broadcasting (NAFB), will lead the discussion. The session will provide quantifiable research data on the buying habits and lifestyles of radio listeners in rural communities who have large amounts of disposable income. Parry will use this data to show attendees the best ways to create and present effective marketing strategies to advertisers needing to reach what Living the Country Life magazine calls a $32 billion audience segment. As marketing consultant, Parry represents NAFB membership, which is made up of 1,815 member stations and network affiliates serving producers, ranchers, and rural lifestyle consumers with agricultural and rural lifestyle broadcast programming. Parry also serves as a member of the City Council in Waseca, Minnesota. Prior to joining NAFB, Parry managed and owned radio stations in southern Minnesota.
